10 Things I've Learned About Having a Little Boy

I have always imagined myself having a little boy.  When Sophia my daughter was born, I knew I was meant to be a girls momma. We have so much in common and its such a joy to have someone who wants to go shopping and get their nails done. All things girlie.

So when I found out I was having a boy, I realized I knew NOTHING about boys. Nothing. I panicked wondering if I could have anything in common with him.

After the last 13 months of my life I have realized that little boys are so special in so many ways and learned a lot about how being a boy mom is different than being a girl mom.

1. Never trust anything that can stand up by it self, it will absolutely pee on you

2. Boys are born thinking farts are funny. Oh especially in the bath tub, and attempting to do them results in pooping in the bath tub. I'm sure I have the most sanitary bath tub on the East Coast

3. My life had a hash tag it would be #nojay which has actually become one word in our house, "NoJay do not stand on the table."

4. If it can be climbed you should climb it.

5. You don't really have to wipe their face as much because you can always use the excuse, "he's a boy" which is great because it takes a team of people to hold him down and do so.

6. Because of #5 he is ALWAYS a mess.

7. They are born rascals. The silliness, the rough and tumble, the car noises, all of it comes naturally and I love it all

8. They are born loving two things: Their mommas & their wieners. Its amazing what they can discover at such young age. Obviously not a lot changes….

9. He eats more than all of us. At 13 months he has tripled his birth weight, it took my daughter 4 years to do this. Lord help us when he's a teenager. We might have to take out a loan to be able to feed him.

10. The option for cute boy clothes is pretty much not existent, because of this you don't really have to worry about what they wear as much as you do with little girls.
